Why music lessons

Raise a mentally strong child through music lessons

Music helps build a strong and resilient mindset.

  1. Goal setting builds confidence

An instrument improves through consistent effort and practice. As children reach small goals, they come to believe “I can do it!”

  2. Consistent practice develops patience and perseverance

Music isn't about instant results. It takes repetition and time, and through that process children learn not to give up.

  3. Concentration and emotional regulation improve

Playing an instrument takes focus and attention. These skills help children manage emotions and cope with stress.

  4. Children learn to accept mistakes and failure

Everyone makes mistakes while learning music. Children learn to accept errors, try again, and grow more resilient.

  5. Performing builds confidence

Playing on stage in front of an audience is a real achievement. Expressing themselves in front of others builds confidence and mental strength.

Music lessons are about more than learning an instrument. They help children develop confidence, perseverance, focus, resilience, and emotional strength that last a lifetime.

Meet your teacher

Hi, I'm Yoonjoo Jung

I've taught piano and violin to children and adults for more than 20 years, and I hold a Master's in Music from Temple University.

I was born in South Korea, where I started piano at five and violin at seven. As concertmaster of the Rowan University Orchestra, I won the concerto competition and performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in 2012. Today I live in Cherry Hill with my husband and our three children.

My students perform in recitals two to three times a year. I believe performing builds confidence and deepens what they learn in lessons.
